PRESS RELEASE - OPENING OF NEW MINOR INJURIES UNIT
Altrincham and Sale West MP Graham Brady performed the opening ceremony of the new minor injuries unit at Altrincham General Hospital on Friday October 12th.
Two years ago the Hospital was listed for closure but a public campaign against the closure, backed by Mr Brady and supported by thousands of local people meant that the Hospital remained open and Trafford Healthcare Trust promised new investment to improve facilities and services.
Speaking after laying a ceremonial brick at Friday’s ceremony, Graham Brady said:
‘I am delighted to be here to mark this very important new development of an extended minor injuries unit. I and many others have campaigned for years to see improvements at Altrincham General Hospital. We have now secured the commitment to significant investment and modernization and the enhanced minor injuries unit is an important milestone on the way and a sign of good faith from the Trafford Healthcare Trust.’
