MP congratulates Trafford pupils following GCSE results
Graham Brady has praised the achievements of Trafford's pupils in this year's examinations. The results again show Trafford outperforming the national average. The percentage of pupils nationally achieving 5 GCSEs at A* - C is 67.0%, in Trafford the latest figures show that more than 80% of pupils achieved 5 good GCSEs . The results follow impressive achievements by Trafford's pupils at A level, with Trafford topping the table in the North West.

Altrincham’s Garrick theatre has found itself out of pocket after Trafford Council decided against paying a grant of £21,000 which it has awarded the popular theatre for the past 9 years. The council decided to give the money instead to a credit union in Old Trafford. The decision means managers at the Garrick are looking at alternative ways to raise funds.

Christie campaigners take their campaign to Downing Street
Graham Brady joined fellow campaigners at Downing Street to hand in a petition calling on the cancer charity to receive compensation following the collapse of the bank Kaupthing Singer Friedlander . 100,000 people had added their name to the petition.

During Prime Minister's Questions in the House of Commons, Graham Brady told Gordon Brown that around a million people in the North West had worked to raise the money which the Christie Hospital stood to lose in the collapse of Kaupthing. Graham Brady addresses Commons reception in support of grammar schools Friends of Grammar Schools held a reception at the House of Commons on March 3rd 2009. Head Teachers were able to give their views and experiences to Shadow Schools Secretary Michael Gove and chatted to MPs from all parties. A very famous grammar school girl, Baroness Thatcher, stayed for over an hour chatting to Head Teachers, pupils and MPs. The majority of the 60 or so MPs were from the Conservative Party and were joined by MPs from the Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats.
